Brioso: The Vivacity of Veneto Rosé
Discover Fugolo Gianluca's 2023 Rosé Brioso IGT, a rosé wine that perfectly embodies its name: lively, fresh, and full of energy. This rosé represents a modern and dynamic interpretation of Veronese winemaking tradition, where indigenous grape varieties meet contemporary vinification techniques to create a highly drinkable wine with great character.
The Story
The name "Brioso" evokes vivacity, energy, and freshness – precisely the characteristics that distinguish this rosé. In the Venetian winemaking tradition, rosé has always represented a lighter and more immediate interpretation of the region's great red grape varieties. Gianluca Fugolo, an innovative producer from Valpolicella, sought to create a rosé that expresses the joyful and convivial character of the Veronese territory.
Rosé Brioso is made from red grapes grown in the Veronese hills, vinified using the rosé method: the grapes are crushed and left in contact with the skins for a few hours, just long enough to extract the characteristic cherry-pink color and fresh, fruity aromas, without tannins. This delicate process preserves the freshness of the fruit and gives the wine the vivacity that makes it perfect for summer and informal occasions.
The Fugolo Gianluca winery represents the new generation of Veronese producers who, while respecting tradition, are not afraid to experiment and innovate. Rosé Brioso is the result of this philosophy: a modern, fresh, and accessible wine that celebrates conviviality and the pleasure of being together.
This 2023 Rosé Brioso IGT stands out for its fresh and inviting aromatic profile: notes of strawberry, raspberry, cherry, pink grapefruit, and white flowers intertwine with delicate citrus and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is fresh, savory, and highly drinkable, with a pleasant acidity that balances the fruit's softness and a clean, persistent finish. A wine that expresses joy, lightness, and the desire to celebrate life.
Production Area
Veneto IGT, province of Verona. The vineyards extend over the Veronese hills, in an area between Valpolicella and Lake Garda, at an altitude of 100 to 350 meters above sea level. The climate is temperate, with beneficial influences from Lake Garda that moderate temperatures and create ideal conditions for viticulture.
The soils are predominantly calcareous and clayey, rich in minerals, which give the wines freshness, savoriness, and the characteristic minerality that makes Veronese rosés so distinctive. Proximity to the lake ensures constant ventilation and cool breezes that preserve the grapes' natural acidity and favor the development of fresh and clean aromas.
Vinification takes place with particular attention to preserving freshness: temperature-controlled fermentation in steel, no wood aging, early bottling to keep the primary fruit aromas intact. The result is a modern, clean, and immediately pleasant rosé.
