The Story

Prosecco DOC was born in the Veneto and Friuli lands, where the Italian sparkling wine tradition found its most popular expression. The DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) denomination extends over nine provinces between Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, guaranteeing the origin and quality of wine produced exclusively with Glera grapes.

Alma represents the contemporary soul of this centuries-old tradition. The name evokes nourishment, growth, and passion for the Veneto territory. The winery carefully selects the best Glera grapes to create bubbles that express freshness, elegance, and immediate pleasure. The vinification follows the Charmat method, which preserves the primary aromas of the grape and gives the wine its characteristic vivacity and fine, persistent perlage.

This 2024 Prosecco Extra Dry is distinguished by its fruity and floral aromatic profile: notes of golden apple, pear, white peach, and citrus intertwine with delicate hints of white flowers and acacia. On the palate, it is fresh, soft, and harmonious, with a fine perlage that caresses the palate. The balanced residual sugar (Extra Dry: 12-17 g/l) makes it pleasant and versatile, perfect both as an aperitif and throughout the meal.

Production Area

Prosecco DOC, production area between Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The vineyards extend over flat and hilly terrains in the provinces of Treviso, Venice, Vicenza, Padua, Belluno, Gorizia, Pordenone, Trieste, and Udine. The climate is temperate, with Adriatic influences that ensure constant ventilation and balanced grape ripening.

The soils, predominantly clayey and silty with the presence of gravel, give the wine freshness and minerality. The DOC area produces accessible and excellent quality Prosecco, perfect for daily consumption, celebrations, and convivial moments. The Extra Dry represents the most traditional and appreciated style, with a perfect balance between freshness and softness.

Winemaking and Temperature

After harvesting, the grapes are lightly pressed and slowly fermented in steel tanks.
Finally, the refermentation in the autoclave (sparkling winemaking) follows the Charmat method.
