Falanghina Campania IGP 2024 – Corteregia
Corteregia's Falanghina Campania IGP 2024 is a white wine of great freshness and brightness, a symbol of the elegance and identity of Campanian viticulture. It represents the modern expression of an ancient grape variety, capable of combining Mediterranean savoriness, vibrant acidity, and aromatic charm. Produced in the heart of Irpinia, Campania, this Falanghina clearly reflects the territory, climate, and viticultural passion of the Corteregia family.
Grape Variety and Territory
The Mediterranean Soul of Irpinia
Falanghina is one of the most representative white grape varieties of Southern Italy, with ancient roots dating back to Roman times. Corteregia's vineyards are located on volcanic and tuffaceous hills, characterized by mineral-rich soils, excellent drainage, and significant nocturnal temperature excursions. These conditions promote a perfect balance of freshness, savoriness, and aromatic development.
The microclimatic context of Irpinia, with constant breezes and cool nights, allows the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving the natural acidity and the typical aromatic spectrum of Falanghina.
Tradition and Sustainability
The vineyards are managed with respect for sustainable agricultural practices, with targeted interventions and precision agriculture that protects soil health and biodiversity. Every phase, from pruning to harvesting, is managed with the aim of obtaining perfectly balanced grapes, without forcing or compromises.
The Corteregia winery combines contemporary oenological techniques with a deep respect for tradition, giving each bottle the maximum expressive purity of the grape variety.
Production Method and Aging
Harvest and Vinification
The harvest is carried out by hand in the first weeks of September, when the grapes reach the right aromatic maturity and balanced acidity. After a careful selection of the bunches, the grapes are gently pressed to extract a high-quality must.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature (around 16-18°C) to preserve aromatic intensity, freshness, and gustatory delicacy. The use of selected yeasts and careful management of fermentation times allow the varietal purity of the wine to be refined.
Aging
After fermentation, the wine rests in steel tanks for a period that promotes stabilization and balance. Subsequently, Corteregia Falanghina 2024 undergoes a short aging in the bottle before commercialization, so that the aromas harmonize and structure.
