Full Description
The Barolo "Boiolo" DOCG 2021 by Bosco Pierangelo is an exceptionally valuable red wine produced in the Langhe hills of Piedmont. Known as the 'King of wines', this Barolo represents the excellence of Piedmontese winemaking tradition and the highest expression of the La Morra territory, where the Bosco family has passionately cultivated vineyards for generations.
Grape Variety and Terroir
Produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, an indigenous Piedmontese grape variety considered one of Italy's noblest. The grapes come from vineyards located in the Boiolo cru, one of the most suitable and prestigious areas in the municipality of La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe. Here, the marly-calcareous soil and the unique microclimate, characterized by ideal temperature fluctuations, create the perfect conditions for the maturation of this demanding grape variety.
Tradition and Sustainability
Cultivation takes place respecting centuries-old tradition and the environment, with sustainable agricultural practices that guarantee a product of the highest quality. Each cluster is carefully monitored from the vineyard to the cellar, in a process that combines ancient wisdom and modern techniques.
Production Method and Aging
Harvest and Vinification
Grapes are harvested strictly by hand upon reaching perfect phenolic ripeness, generally in the second half of October. After careful selection of the best clusters and gentle crushing, the must ferments at a controlled temperature for about 15-20 days with maceration on the skins, extracting color, tannins, and noble aromas.
The Art of Aging
A long aging period of at least 38 months follows, of which a minimum of 18 months is in Slavonian oak barrels, as required by the strict Barolo DOCG regulations. This long process imparts aromatic complexity, significant tannic structure, and elegance to the wine, characteristics that make it suitable for further bottle aging for many years.
