The History

The Bosco Pierangelo winery is a benchmark for Barbera production in the Langhe. The Bosco family has been cultivating this native Piedmontese grape variety for generations, continuing a tradition rooted in Alba's winemaking history. Barbera, a symbolic grape of Piedmont alongside Nebbiolo, finds its highest expression in these hills, producing wines of character and great drinkability.

The Production Area

This Barbera d'Alba DOC originates from the hills surrounding Alba, in the heart of the UNESCO heritage Langhe. The vineyards, cultivated on marly-calcareous and clayey soils at an altitude between 250 and 400 meters, benefit from optimal exposures and the unique microclimate of this area. The temperature excursions between day and night, typical of the Langhe hills, favor the development of intense aromas and a natural acidity that makes Barbera a fresh and long-lived wine.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, it presents an intense and inviting bouquet: notes of ripe cherry, plum, and berries, enriched by spicy nuances of black pepper, licorice, and a delicate touch of vanilla. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, with a beautiful soft and well-integrated tannic structure. The characteristic acidity of Barbera gives momentum and persistence, with a fruity and pleasantly spicy finish.
