Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Vigne Alte - Zeni 2017

The Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico "Vigne Alte" represents the ultimate expression of elegance and history of the Zeni 1870 winery. The result of a careful selection of the finest Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes grown on the hills north of Verona, this wine is made using the traditional method of appassimento in drying racks. The slow fermentation and subsequent aging in oak barrels create a nectar with an imposing structure but an extraordinarily velvety palate. 

In the glass, it presents a dense and deep ruby-red color, which develops elegant garnet reflections with age. On the nose, it reveals a broad and aristocratic bouquet: aromas of sour red fruit, black cherry and dried plum dominate, enhanced by intriguing notes of cocoa, sweet spices, tobacco and licorice. On the palate, it is enveloping, warm and harmonious. The tannins are silky and polished, supporting an exceptionally long, persistent and intensely aromatic finish. 

A true oenological gem to be savored slowly, perfect for special occasions or for enhancing rich, full-bodied dishes from land-based cuisine.
