The Story
Corvina is the emblematic grape variety of Valpolicella, the indigenous grape that gives life to great Veronese wines such as Amarone and Valpolicella. Gianluca Fugolo has chosen to enhance this grape in purity, creating a wine that best expresses the varietal characteristics of Corvina: elegance, freshness, and great drinkability. This wine represents a tribute to the Veronese winemaking tradition, bringing the pure essence of a grape that has made Valpolicella famous worldwide into the bottle.
The Production Area
This Corvina Veronese IGT originates from the Valpolicella hills, a territory par excellence suited for cultivating this grape variety. The vineyards, facing south on calcareous and clayey soils, benefit from the temperate microclimate influenced by Lake Garda and the Lessini Mountains. The grapes are hand-harvested at perfect ripeness, selecting only the best bunches to obtain a wine that expresses all the typicality of Corvina in a modern and accessible version.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, it presents a fresh and inviting bouquet: notes of ripe cherry, black cherry, berries, and a delicate floral hint of violet. In the mouth, it is soft and velvety, with fine and well-integrated tannins. The structure is balanced, with a pleasant freshness that gives momentum and a slightly almondy note typical of Corvina on the finish. A versatile and highly drinkable wine, perfect for any occasion.
